| Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce |

| Cake Ingredients: |
| 1 cup | Sugar |
| 1/4 cup | Butter |
| 1 | Egg, beaten |
| 1 cup | Sifted flour |
| 1/2 tsp | Cinnamon |
| 1 tsp | Baking soda |
| 3 cups | Apples, peeled and sliced |
| 3/4 cup | Chopped walnuts or pecans (optional) |
| Caramel Sauce Ingredients: |

| 1/2 cup | Butter |
| 1/2 cup | Cream |
| 1/2 cup | White sugar |
| 1/2 cup | Brown sugar |
| 1/2 tsp | Vanilla |
| Directions: |

| 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and butter. Mix in remaining cake ingredients. Bake in a greased and floured 9x9 pan for 35 minutes or until done. |
| 2. To make caramel sauce, combine all ingredients except vanilla in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Serve cake with sauce while still warm. |
